Experience Matters

I am Representative Bruce Broadrick. My family has been providing health care for the citizens of Whitfield County for more than a century. My Grandfather began his medical practice in 1909 and practiced until the early 1960’s. My father and I operated a successful independent pharmacy for fifty years. My son is a pharmacist that is practicing at Hamilton Medical Center in the employee pharmacy. We are all graduates of the University Of Georgia College Of Pharmacy.

, I am seeking my third term as your representative for the 4th District. The House 4th district includes the major portions of the City of Dalton and the Southern portion of Whitfield County. My committee assignments include Health and Human Services, Industry and Labor, and Intergovernmental Coordination; I am Vice-Chairman of the Game, Fish and Parks Committee. Committee assignments are important to move important legislation forward.
I am Vice-Chairman of an appropriations sub-committee for Human Services; Veterans Services, Vocational Rehabilitation, Behavioral Health, Development Disabilities, Community Care Service Programs, Meals on Wheels, Adult Addictive Disease Services, Adult Mental Health, Office of Child Advocate, Adoption Services, Elder Community Living Services, Elder Support Services, Substance Abuse Prevention, Family Connection,

My wife Mary Ann and I have been married for 41 years and are both native residents of Dalton. We have three adult children that all attended Dalton Public Schools and five Grandchildren I am a graduate of Middle Georgia College and The University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. I am a former president of the Georgia Pharmacy Association. Additionally, I have completed the UGA Carl Vinson Institute Legislative Leadership Program, the GSU Health Policy Training Program, and was recognized as the 2014 Distinguished Alumni for UGA College of Pharmacy.
I am a community pharmacist that has served his community for more than 40 years. I believe that my years of experience as a pharmacist will help to address the health challenges our state faces. We have so many assets to offer in Whitfield County. I want to promote our Whitfield county assets for economic development and new business growth. Education and workforce development are interests I have as your representative. I am interested in addressing our drug abuse problem locally and across the state.
In 2015 I carried HB 415 that reduced the sales tax on hard surface flooring samples, saving our flooring industry $500,000 a year in sales tax.
I have served as Chairman of the Whitfield County Board of Health and am a board member of the Northwest Georgia Healthcare Partnership. During his professional career, I have received numerous service and leadership awards. I have served on state level committees with the Department of Community Health and the State Board of Workers’ Compensation. For proven effective leadership and experience I ask for you vote on May 24th.
